Miles Market began with a building, a vision, and a deep belief in Saginaw.

In 2017, owner Linda Shephard purchased what was once the clubhouse of a former golf course—later the Saginaw ISD building—right in the heart of the county. She had her eye on the space for years while renting nearby, imagining what it could become. When the opportunity finally arose, the offer was accepted almost immediately. From the start, Linda’s vision was to create a place of commerce, connection, and community. Her dream was simple but ambitious: a one-stop destination called The Point, where people could spend their whole day—meeting, working, eating, shopping, listening to music, and gathering.
That dream didn’t come without challenges. The building flooded twice: once in 2017, right after purchase, and again in 2020 when the Edenville Dam failed in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, just as The Point was opening its doors. But even then, the vision held. Miles Market was built not just to weather storms, but to last through them.
A pivotal moment came when the beloved Hamilton Bakery, a Saginaw institution, closed its doors. With help from Linda’s real estate business, Pinnacle Realty, Linda was able to acquire Hamilton’s original bakery equipment, display cases, and cabinetry, pieces that themselves carried more than a century of history. Before Hamilton Bakery, those same pieces belonged to Siebold Bakery, and today, they live on at Miles Market, fully restored, continuing a legacy of baking in Saginaw.

Many of our recipes are inspired by Hamilton Bakery, and even our glassware and plates carry local history, sourced from the former Big Boy in Bridgeport. At Miles Market, nothing is accidental. Every detail tells a story.
As the space grew, so did the vision. What began as a bakery and breakfast spot expanded into lunch and dinner offerings, then a cocktail bar, an event space, and catering services. Sips 476, the coffee shop next door that preceded Miles Market, came to life from Linda’s longtime dream of owning a café—a quiet, creative space where people could linger. Together, Miles Market and Sips form a shared ecosystem: eat, sip, shop, stay awhile.
Family has always been at the center of it all. Linda works closely alongside her daughter, Heather, and that family-first mindset extends to the entire team. Employees are treated as family, encouraged to bring ideas forward, and even contribute to menu creation. The goal is simple: create a place where people feel secure, valued, and proud to be part of something bigger.
Today, Miles Market is more than a restaurant. It’s a gathering place. A concert venue. A trivia night hub. A sand sculpture stop. A book club meeting spot. A crochet night hangout. A curated vendor market. A girls’ night out. A space where community happens naturally.
Our mission is to become an integral, must-visit Saginaw staple, a place rooted in family, loyalty, and quality, serving classic comfort foods with a modern, unexpected twist.
Miles Market is built on history, shaped by community, and always looking forward.
Come in. Stay awhile. You’re part of the story now.
